A TRAGIC BEDTIME STORY
"A Tragic Bedtime Story" is a collection that explores the Bosnian genocide through the personal stories of five survivors now living in the Netherlands. Using a mix of paintings and spatial elements, the project gives visitors a closer look at the pain, resilience, and hope of those who lived through the war. It focuses on the cities of Srebrenica, Sarajevo, Višegrad, Prijedor, and Mostar, aiming to preserve the memory of what happened there and encourage empathy through individual experiences. Each painting reflects the survivors' own perspectives, making their voices central to the work. Two of the paintings from the series, "Do You See Her Too?" and "My Son, My Son", were nominated for the Royal Dutch Award of Modern Painting 2025.
